If you are new to teaching at Virginia Tech, please take some time to review the technology in the classrooms you are teaching in.

Virginia Tech classrooms are mostly Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). Your laptop will connect to the A/V system. This approach fosters a more personalized teaching environment allowing the faculty to use whatever operating system and software they prefer to teach with.

Classroom A/V Training

Classroom A/V provides a self-paced training module to step you through how to use the systems. Most classrooms are setup with a common control system.

If you need a more in-depth walk through or have specific questions, you can reach out to Pamplin IT and we can consult.

General Classroom A/V Capabilities

Check out what different classrooms around campus have in the space without needed to stop by. All classrooms have projectors and control panels, but others have more options such as microphones, cameras, and other technology.

FUN FACT: Some of the new classrooms in the D&DS building have multiple cameras that can automatically follow you as your move through the space.
