SPOT Off-Schedule Programs

This process is to be used to add off-schedule coures into the University SPOT System. In the Pamplin College of Business, this is mainly the EMBA and PMBA programs. 

Add Course to SPOT System

  1. Download CourseUploadFileCourseLevelDates_MBA2017.xls
  2. Populate Fields in Excel Files
    • Title: DEPT_NUMBER_CRN_TERM (ei. MGT_5684_16012_201701)
    • Code: Same as Title
    • CoursUniqueID: Title_Title (ei. MGT_5684_16012_201701_MGT_5684_16012_201701)
    • SurveyStart: Start Date for Survey
    • SurveyEnd: End Date for Survey
  3. Save files for 4help ticket in following step

Add Participants to Courses

  1. Download UserUploadFile_MBA2017.xls
  2. Populate Fields in Excel Files
    • UserTypeID: 3 - Instructor, 4 - Student
    • CourseUniqueID: From the CourseUploadFileCourseLevelDates_MBA2017.xls
    • FirstName: First Name
    • LastName: Last Name
    • Email: Email Address (prefer @vt.edu)
    • Username: PID
  3. Save files for 4help ticket in following step

Submit 4help Ticket

Submit a 4help ticket with the two files attached. Please email 4help ticket number to Jim Dickhans (jdickhans@vt.edu) after it was submitted.
