Windows Complete Step by Step

Pamplin IT wants all Faculty & Staff to have the most complete and secure setup possible on their Windows Computer.  The Windows Complete initiative focuses on four primary Goals.  Those include having an up-to-date version of Windows 10, using Microsoft Office 365, enabling OneDrive Backup, and encrypting your Windows computer with Microsoft Bitlocker.

Warning: Prior to Starting

Before you complete the steps below please make sure the computer is up to date on it’s Drivers and firmware.  This will allow a more secure computing enviorment and cause a smoother upgrade experience.

Step 1: Windows Update Assistant

  1. Save the Windows update Assistant program from this link: pampl.in/windowsupdate
  2. Run the Windows update Assistant (Process can take 1-2 hours)

Step 2: Microsoft Office 365

If you have Office 2013/2016 you may have to uninstall the old software first.

Step 3: OneDrive Backup
