Kevin Bishop

Kevin started his IT career and first job at Virginia Tech in 1999 working for the Division of Information Technology part time.  Kevin gained experience in the desktop support and server administration fields while working at Virginia Tech until 2002 when he started working for Roanoke County Public Schools full time.  Over the next five years he would gain in-depth knowledge in Server Administration and obtain several professional certifications from Microsoft.  In 2007 Kevin came back home to Virginia Tech where he joined the Division of Operations and took over as Helpdesk Manager and Systems Administration.  Joining the Pamplin College of Business in 2014 as Assistant Director of IT he now leads Helpdesk Operations with a team of 10-15 student employees, putting emphasis upon learning new technologies and being a technology advocate to simplify and create more efficient, safer, and more secure business processes.

Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, Rilka and in volunteer ministry work throughout the week, along with helping friends and family with their computer issues.
